Scholarships

Northwest State Community College offers an array of scholarship opportunities for students. Scholarships are forms of financial aid that do not need to be repaid. If you are a new student, the first step to ensuring that you can be considered for a scholarship is to apply for admission. The link below will direct you to the application for admission if you have not yet applied.

The office of Financial Aid is here to help you in your scholarship search. While many outside businesses and community organizations sponsor scholarships, Northwest State Community College also has a wide variety of opportunities for students. This in mind, we encourage all students to apply for as many scholarships as eligible.

We invite you to explore the scholarships that are offered through the Northwest State Community College and the NSCC Foundation. Scholarship awards can range from $250 to full tuition, and many scholarships are awarded to more than one student each year. Whether sponsored by the institution or made possible by our generous donors, scholarships pave the road to success for many students at NSCC while helping them achieve their dreams and build their futures.

Foundation Scholarship Application

 

  • The recipient shall be a student pursuing an agricultural studies degree
  • First preference will be given to students who are American FFA Degree recipients
  • Second preference will be given to students who were 10/11 year 4-H members or State FFA Degree recipients

  • The recipient shall be a student actively pursuing an Allied Health degree or certificate
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

  • The recipient shall be a student pursuing a degree in criminal justice/law enforcement
  • Must submit an essay (300-500 words) describing why they chose a career in law enforcement

  • First preference non-traditional student
  • Graduate of Archbold High school
  • Current resident of Archbold
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Pursuing an associate degree in business or engineering
  • 2.5 GPA
  • First preference will be given to an ATL employee or family member, if no applicants then preference shall be given to a Fulton or Williams County student

  • Non-traditional age student (25 years or older)
  • Successfully completed 12 credit hours
  • Enroll full-time

  • Putnam County resident
  • Pursuing careers in the wind and solar energy industries

  • The recipient shall be a student actively pursuing a Business Technologies Division degree or certificate
  • First preference will be given to students majoring in office administrative services
  • Preference will be given to students from Geona High School

  • Full-time or part-time students
  • Working toward their first degree

  • Student must be pursuing an associate degree in engineering technologies or business
  • First preference will be given to a Creative Liquid Coatings employee or family member
  • If no applicants from Creative Liquid Coatings, then preference shall be given to a Williams County student

  • Student residing in Henry County
  • 3.0 GPA

  • Student residing in William County from West Unity, Pioneer, Edon or Montpelier
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher

  • Second year student with a 3.5 grade point average
  • Pursuing a business degree

  • Given to a full-time, first year student who graduated from Defiance County High School with a minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Must be a resident of Defiance

  • First preference will be given to students residing in Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Fulton, or Williams counties
  • Applicant must be enrolled in Associates of Arts, Associates of Science, Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, Human Services, Paraprofessional Education, or Pre-K
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Student must be either full-time or part-time, majoring in alternative energy

  • A student registering in an entrepreneurship class

  • Preference will be given to students majoring in Agriculture or Business.
  • Consideration will be given to a F&M Bank employee family member
  • Student shall be enrolled full-time with minimum 2.5 GPA

  • The recipient must be of Latino descent with first preference for a first generation college student
  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Awarded to deserving students in need of financial aid residing in Henry County
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA for high school/college

  • First preference to a Montpelier High School graduate, second preference to Williams County resident
  • Majoring in Engineering Technologies degree or certificate, Practical Nursing, or Registered Nursing

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Enrolled full-time

  • The recipient shall be a student pursuing a degree in machining CNC program, machining certificate, mechanical engineering technology or CAD/CAM

  • Any candidate pursuing a business degree who is from a high school within the five-county area

  • First preference is Fulton County Residents pursuing an Associate of Applied Business

  • High school senior with a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • First preference given to graduates of North Central Pioneer High School

  • Student residing in William County from West Unity, Pioneer, Edon or Montpelier
  • GPA of 2.8 or higher

  • Any business major with a 3.0 GPA who is from the five-county area

  • The recipient shall be a student residing in Defiance, Fulton or Williams County

  • Second year student pursuing an associate degree in business
  • 3.0 grade point average

  • Incoming freshman from the five-county area
  • 2.0 high school GPA
  • One candidate from each of the 5 counties if possible

  • Awarded to NSCC student with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Preference given to students enrolled in STEM, Industrial Technology, Advanced Manufacturing or Nursing
  • First preference to students residing in Bryan

  • Actively pursuing an associate degree in nursing
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA at the end of the first year
  • Candidate must be from five-county service area

  • The recipient shall be a student residing in the city of Defiance with 2nd preference given to residents of Defiance County
  • Preference will be given to students majoring in STEM or Industrial Technology with a minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Seeking a degree in early childhood development or business
  • First preference to non-traditional student

  • Nursing degree or certificate first preference high school student from Ayersville High School

  • Student registering in an entrepreneurship class

  • A full-time or part-time student maintaining a 3.0 GPA
  • First preference to family members of NSCC alumni

  • Majoring in science, technology, engineering or math
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Second year, degree-seeking student at NSCC
  • 3.5 cumulative GPA

  • Student pursuing a nursing certificate or degree or medical assisting certificate
  • Living in Parkview service area
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Any second year student maintaining 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Must be a member of PTK attending Northwest State Community College in good standing for one year with 30-72 credit hours or higher
  • A one-page essay on how PTK is important and what leadership, scholarship, service and fellowship means must be submitted
  • Demonstrate campus leadership

  • Student residing in Williams County

  • Any student from the NSCC service area pursuing an LPN certificate or associate degree in nursing at the time of awarding

  • Actively pursuing a licensed practical nursing certificate
  • First preference to Bryan High School graduates
  • 2.5 GPA

  • Non-traditional age student
  • Pursing a degree in business technology

  • First preference will be given to veterans or their children from Williams County who are in their second year of college

  • Student actively pursuing an Agricultural Studies degree
  • First preference to Fulton County resident

  • First preference to students residing in Defiance county. Pursuing a Business degree or certificate, with preference to students who have a focus in Entrepreneurship
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Paulding County resident
  • Pursuing careers in the wind and solar energy industries

  • Earned at least 30 credit hours. Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Live in the Toledo Edison service area

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Preference shall be given to a veteran and/or a veteran’s spouse or children

  • Student actively pursuing a certificate in the areas of health and industrial technologies
  • Second preference will be given to students working on an Associates degree in early childhood education, industrial technologies or the health field
  • U.S. citizen or a resident of Ohio for the past 5 years

  • Minimum 3.25 high school or college GPA
  • Pursuing a 4 year or advanced degree in Nursing, Medical, Accounting, or Law
  • Resident of Swan Creek Township of Fulton County (Swanton, Delta, or Liberty Center) or may be a descendant from the original Plymouth Pilgrims

  • First preference to a student pursuing an associate in engineering technologies (with emphasis in metals as opposed to plastics)
  • Second preference to a student pursuing an associate of applied science in nursing with a 3.0 GPA
  • Preference should be given to family of Automatic Feed employees

  • First preference will be given to candidates from Williams County, with consideration given to students from Henry or Defiance County
  • The recipient shall be a full-time LPN student who has completed one semester of clinical coursework or an ADN student who has completed at least two semesters of clinical coursework
